Falls View Falls

This 80-120 feet horsetail-type, seasonal waterfall is visible on the far slope of an impressive and rather deep and steep canyon of the Quilcene River.

Falls View Campground off US Highway 101 between Quilcene and Brinnon.

Travel Instructions

This waterfall is located off US Highway 101 at Falls View Campground (US Forest Service), a distance of four miles south of Quilcene or nine miles north of Brinnon. A short easy trail begins in the south loop (left side) of the campground along the course of the Big Quilcene River far below. If the campground gate is closed, park at the entrance and walk in less than ¼ mile to the south loop and access the trail.

Sometimes referred to as Campground Falls by locals. This falls is best viewed in autumn through spring, as the drainage of this unnamed stream is small. It can dry up during summer.

Great advice! Thank you. Yes, Rocky Brook is very impressive and not that far from the highway.

Was here today, June 7, 2014. was not impressed with the falls, guess you need to see during early spring, maybe. The impressive sight was the Quilcene River. Note to those with disabilities: Please do not try to go down to the river. It is a very steep ravine that you have to go down into and back out of. However, you can access this trail by going to the left of the kiosk. If you just want a view of the falls and the surrounding mountains, then go to the right of the kiosk! Rocky Brook, just a few miles down the road, is so much better of a water fall!

Rocky Brook is now on our new Waterfall Trail brochure, but not updated on the website just yet! We saw some folks swimming in the pool last summer….hardy souls that they were!

The falls that you refer to are the Rocky Brook Falls, and are impressive, but not well-publicized – probably why it isn’t overrun by tourists, since it is difficult to even notice the small turnout area that leads to the short, easy trail to the falls. Well worth finding, but you will get spray from the falls, and if it isn’t a hot day, you will need a jacket or the like to stay comfy. You CAN swim in the little pool on the right side of the falls, too.

Found this waterfall off Dosewallips Rd. At the 3 mile marker you’ll come up on a blue power box off the road. That’s the trailhead to the falls. It’s only a 100 yds walk from there. Great place to have a picnic.
